Oh, what to wear?
Can someone tell me what water temperature (and air) to expect? Any paticular gear/clothing I should bring? (I got my stuff from the US and should be able to cover just about anything) |

I heard a rumour it was formal this year so I'm taking a tux. But do I take the crocodile? That's the question.

A couple of years ago clothes were optional. I'm just packing the smugglers.

and for those that have forgotten the smugglers, I hear that there will be a stand from Kazakhstan selling "mankinis"
Smugglers are so last decade, the mankinis are the new look http://gnarlydognews.blogspot.com/

Thanks, you all are so helpful.
So if I figure out which carton it is in, I'll bring the Utilikilt. |

Anything remotely like a kilt will be a great addition to Rock & Roll.

I dident know that ther was a Celtic heritage with the Sundin's , it wuld need to be a sumer weight Kilt , but the real question is what tartan? |

Mick, you don't have to be a Celt to appreciate the finer points of men wearing skirts.

P.S. Have a great R&R Boys and Girls. I wish I could be there to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.
This damn work really does interfere with my leisure time!! Raider |

Hi Raider,
Greetings from Batemans Bay. Had a nice leisurely paddle this morning in a beatiful part of the world. A lot different to home and better conditions than we had last weekend! See you on my return. Karrazy When you just love to paddle

I just posted a short video of my perspective of Rock & Roll - http://vimeo.com/10449072
Anyone that was on my forward paddle clinic will see a brief shot of themselves from the 'the camera doesn't lie Cam', let me know if you want a longer version. Another great Rock & Roll, it's a fantastic event, you should do your best to get along next year. Thanks to the organisers & particularly Rob Richmond, bloody legend. Mark Sundin

You start selling those in Aquatherm and I'll be your first customer...... Picked up my V10S and like you...loving it. I was wondering what angle and length you have your mid-wing set at? I'm finding each time I paddle I seem to shorten it. Curently I'm at 214 at 45degrees. G Raider |

I'm 6' and have mine at 210/60degs. You're taller so probably where you are is about right? The easiest indicator is your top hand; if it's starting out above your eyeline shorten up, if it's below your chin at the catch then extend. No magic formula though...

Is this a good indicator for normal paddels to ? or just for skies yousing wings? |

Truly Mick, there is no magic formula. I have an upright stroke with reasonably good rotation, and with a 60 degree feather I have no wrist movement at all, which is what we should all be aiming for. My ski has a narrow catch zone so I set my length at 210cm, my sea kayak has a wider catch zone so I extend to 212cm. You really need someone with a good eye for forward stroke to anaylse you and then experiment with shaft length, feather etc.
